About Us
The Sydney Guitar Collective (SGC) was established in early 2023 through the generous sponsorship of Simon Powis, founder of Classical Guitar Corner. The sponsorship provided a platform for emerging professional musicians to continue pursuing their passion for chamber ensemble performance beyond their university studies.
Since its formation, SGC has steadily expanded its performance profile and now seeks to act as an ambassador for both the classical guitar and guitar ensemble. Looking ahead, the ensemble aims to develop educational initiatives that introduce classical guitar to regional communities and groups with limited access to music education.
The Sydney Guitar Collective is led by Musical Director Dr Janet Agostino and features Manuel Diewald, Tobias Dracoulis, Jonathan Moran, Reede Palmer and Alexander Frendo, a group of Sydney-based classical guitarists active as performers and educators.
